Hi Team,

My customer wants to know if it could be a problem when connecting the exposed pads to VDD(12V).
I heard he saw the following description but wants to confirm.
>TI recommends to externally connect the exposed pads to GND in PCB layout for better EMI immunity.

    Hello Yaita,

    According to the datasheet, the thermal pad is not wired bonded directly to the ground pin, but the thermal pad is connected to the substrate which is referenced to ground in the IC. The thermal pad should be connected to ground to keep the IC substrate referenced to ground.

    Hi Richard-san,

    I appreciate for your support.
    If my customer leave exposed pad unconnected(Hi-Z), does UCC27524A operate normally if there is no thermal issue?
    It seems the datasheet shows it isn't essential for exposed pad to connect GND, only recommended in terms of thermal and EMI.
