I am using a BQ 24165 to switch between a Lead acide battery and a lipo battery. The led acid battery is arranged in a way that a DC DC is bring 5V from it into the BQ24165.

The Q24165 can not output more than 4.2V as this is a buck converter. I need to bring back 5V power rail with a current availability around 2.5A, what boost converter should I choose for this ?

Do you mean you need a boost converter to convert the 4.2V battery voltage to 5V/2.5A?

Yes correct , considering that battery voltage may vary from 4.2V to 3.3V I suppose;

I am also looking at someone at TI chine to contact me for sales purpose, for another question I have related to pricing..

TPS61089, TPS61235, TPS61236 are all fit for your application based on the current output power. If you wants higher output power later on, please use TPS61088. But TPS61088 is a little bit expensive than the others.

Helen,
The reference you are mentionning doesn't seems to output 2.5A, but only 2A and 2.1A. Would you please double check and revert ?

Edit; I found out TPS61088 output till 3A so it should be fine.

what is strange is when I simulated using Webench it gaves me some other chip LM instead of TPS...
