a customer is looking for a controller.

Output voltage must follow an adjustable reference. Output range will be between 0.4V and 1.35V Output current is +/- 1.1A.

He need s current limiting in both the sourcing and sinking directions Input voltage is either 12V (preferred) or 3.3V

Any suggestion?

TPS40042 for 3.3V input

Neither offfer sinking current limit, so that would need to be implimented externally.

The TPS54620 family has a track in pin that will track a voltage. See figure 48 in the datasheet. It has current limits for the high and low side FETs and a sinking current limit on the low side FET. In a few months, there will be 2 spins released for lower currents (and lower current limits).
