UCC28711 transformer for 12Vout/200mA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28711

Hi to all,

Is there is someone could suggest me wich transformer I can use to get 12V/200mA with UCC28711 ?

The input voltage is 300Vdc, but I can accept to work also with a lower voltage.

I have thought to utilize the Wurth code 750342104 : is it a good choise ?

Thanks in advance

Simone

  • The transformer you picked is designed specifically to work with the UCC28711 so it will work. Your operating parameters are all within the design specs and nothing is drastically overkill so it should perform well. The input range of 85-264Vac means it can support DC voltages well above and below your fixed 300V input.
  • Thank very much Eric !

I have got a new question : If I can accept an higher Vin than 85Vac, for example Vin min> 200Vdc, Could I use the transformer mounted on the demo board (Wurth  7508110127 or 7508110151) ? These transformer are designed to supply +5V, but I want understand if i canuse them in other application with different range of input voltage.

  • As long as the input voltage you're applying is within the specified input range of the EVM/transformer it should work. The turns ratio of the transformer is set to determine the output voltage and optimize operating parameters throughout the circuit, so it's not recommended to use a transformer that's designed for a fixed 5V output at 12V.
