We tested short circuit on On Semiconductor NIS5232MN1TXG and STMicroelectronics STEF12PUR, and we found high current spike (approximately 35 Amp, 4 us) a few hundred micro seconds before the E-fuse started to clamp the current. We contact On Semiconductor and and application engineer said it was the current limit response time for this device and it was normal. We wonder if TPS25942L and TPS25944L have the same issue.
