LM5113 3V input logic

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5113

Hello,

Is it possible to successfully drive the HI and LI inputs to the LM5113 (a 5V part) with 3V?

The threshold voltage for rising edge is max 2.18V, but are there other considerations I might be missing?

Thanks,

Kevin

  • Hi Mike,

I will get one of the driver applications team to answer your question.

  • Hi Mike,

I do not expect any problem driving inputs of LM5113 with 3V. In fact, the output of many advanced DSCs is 3V and that is what driving the drivers. As far as VDD and inputs are above their respective thresholds, driver will work as expected.
One suggestion I have is that the 3V signal is free of any significant noise and ripple to avoid any improper turn-on and turn-off as it is very close to rise and fall threshold as you mentioned.
