AM5728 PMIC

Hi,

we are using sitara processor and for powering using PMIC TPS6590376. We are using USB stacked in host mode. There is a pin in PMIC VBUS that is VBUS detection voltage. In Eval it is USB connector' voltage coming to VBUS pin of the PMIC. In our case we are using two USB 2.0 in host mode. what should we have to do. Now it is unconnected. Any suggestion ?

  • Hello Neelam,

The PMIC VBUS detection can assert an output signal (VBUSDET, GPIO1) when it detects that VBUS is present. If you want to detect if either VBUS is present, you can use two diodes to OR the two VBUS signals to the VBUS pin, which should detect if either is present. You may want to use schottky diodes to minimize the VBUS voltage drop - note that the threshold spec in the PMIC is max 3.6V rising. Is this what you are trying to achieve?
