BQ34Z110 failed to update the battery State Of Charge ( SOC ) during charging and discharging cycle

Hi , Thank for the support and sharing the experience.

 

Battery Spec:   Lead-lead dioxide battery is 12V, 5 Ah . kindly check the  battery datasheet  attached here.

Battery Charger : The charger controls the charging current as well as the charging voltage to safely and efficiently charge the battery. kindly check the                                                  battery charging profile attached here.

 Battery Discharging Cycle:   

              Battery is connected to the load ( System : keyboard,display,analog acquisition, 3V regulators  5V regulators ,9V switching regulators ) and the discharge     current is 640mA apporximately. [ SOC failed even while rapid change in the discharge current ( Max current 14A ) ] . 

Battery Charging Cycle:   

             Battery is charged at maximum current of 1.2A. ( kindly check the  battery charging profile attached here.)

Observation :

  1.       During discharging the battery, state of charge is not update correctly ( ex. System shall switch off  if battery voltage is 11.2V but SOC is 96% at 11.2V ) . 
  2.       While start charging the drained battery( 11.2V ), SOC is updated as above 45%

Why the BQ34Z110 fail to provide correct State Of Charge?

Do any design recommendations are  available to avoid SOC failure?
