Quick review on TPS54160 webench results

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54160

WebenchReportsServlet_3p3Vp5A_5V1A_10V1A_lowRipple.pdfAnyone here can review the dc/dc power supplies with TPS54160/54060s from webbench simulation. I am about to send these designs for prototype. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Hopefully, there are no obvious errors or bugs from the webbench.

Thanks,

  • Those designs seem reasonable enough.  One thing I do notice is that the Ccomp2 values are all very low, 1.2pF or 2pF.  The output capacitance of the error amplifier is likely higher than that.  I would probably place the footprint and leave it unpopulated.

  • John,

Thanks for your response and pointing out the small Ccomp2 values. I am curious if the webench takes into account the output caps in their models, probably not. Please let me know if you catch any other possible surprises on the prototype.

    Thanks again,
