Hi Jorge,
ANswer is NO but I am wondering why you want to do this?
You don't need to have ICs to communicate bewteen them.
You can completely separate them but then again "why".

Thanks for the answer. I was pretty sure the answer was NO but I simply wanted to make sure. The ability to communicate between parallel strings simply makes the ICs much more flexible. I was curious about their limitations.
Thank you once again.
