LM3424 / Current Sensing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3424

Hi,

I received the question from my customer.

The LM3424 are implemented the high side current sense function.

Can this current sense use as low side current such as following ?

- Background

My customer would you like to use the LM3424 over 100V, so the current sensing can't be used as high-side current sensing.

They think that another high voltage pins(VIN etc.) are inputted divided voltage.

  • Hello Kuramochi,

I'm answering for another engineer that is out.

I don't believe it can be done that way, below is from the datasheet.  What topology are they using?  Input and output voltage?  Moving the sense to that point doesn't measure the continuous LED current.

    Thank you,
