PMIC* 2DC/DC+1LDO

Guru 13485 points
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62400

Input requirements:

  • Buck topology
  • Input voltage: 3.5V – 8.5V protected and stabilized already
  • Max efficiency
  • Enable pin
  • Power good – optional, but a benefit
  • Solution can be found in one package or several bucks as follows:
    • Two separate bucks, and one LDO
    • One IC for double buck , and one LDO
    • One IC for all three

In this board efficiency is the most important even if it means to have “bigger” solution.

Output requirements:

  • 1.2V , 0.3A (max)
  • 1.8V, 0.5A (max)
  • 1.3, 10mA (LDO)
  • Please advise best solution
  • Hi Eli,

I don't see any integrated devices in our portfolio that would meet those criteria. In particular, the 3.5V - 8.5V input range is difficult as most of our solutions with this size are 1S, 3.3V or 5V input solutions (for example TPS62400). I thought maybe we could run the 1.2V and 1.3V off of a wide-range discrete 1.8V, but I didn't find any BUCK+LDO capable of 1.8V --> 1.2V / 1.3V.

Likely a full discrete solution will be required. Webench is great for designing something like this.
