Could someone advise what tools can automatically generate gold data flash image for bq27510g3, automatically complete learning cycles, e.g. BQ27GDK000EVM and bqstudio?

    Hi Yunfa,

    There is no automated learning cycle for the bq27510 using bqStudio. However, you can manually achieve a learning cycle by following the steps outlined in this document. www.ti.com/.../slua597.pdf

    Once this is completed, you can generate a golden image based on the results of this learning cycle.

    For manually achieving learning cycle of ba27510g3, is the software tool still bqEVSW? Or is newer tool available for this purpose?

    We recommend that you use bqStudio, which is the newer software for gauges. A manual learning cycle can be done by following the steps under "How a Learning Cycle Works" in the document referenced in my previous comment. To set the charge and discharge rates in bqStudio, you will need to click the GDK button and use the Charge Control or Discharge control options under the manual control tab.

    Thanks Sam,

    I could not find GDK button in bqStudio, neither learning cycle wizard similar as bqEasy in bqEN. I am using EV2300 interface board. That will be great if you can point me application note for using bqStudio to complete learning cycle.

    Here is the screenshot of bqStudio I saw when I tried.

    Hi Yunfa,

    I believe I initially misinterpreted your question. You will need a GDK to charge and discharge the battery using the gauge that is connected to the GDK. You will be able to perform a learning cycle using the GDK in your setup.

    I found GDK BQ27GDK000EVM on TI website, is it the right one?

    I quick checked the spec, could not understand how connect my gauge on my board to GDK. Does this GDK have bq27510G3 on board?

    Hi Sam,

    Step by step follow the application note, after one charge cycle, and follow by one discharge cycle, does bqStudio automatically update data memory? Then use golden image to generate image, and done? Anything else on bqStudio is dedicated to learning cycle?

    Will bqStudio tell learning cycle successful or failure like what bqEasy does?
