BQ34Z100-G1 parallel cell support

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100-G1

We are looking at an application using the BQ34Z100-G1 gas gauge.  We are looking at some different cell configurations such as 8S2P or 8S4P and are wondering if the above part supports parallel cell configurations.  Not knowing the intricacies of the Impedance Tracking algorithm, just assuming that as cells are placed in parallel the impedance that the gas gauge sees is reduced.  Just wondering if that messes with the Impedance Tracking algorithm, or if that information can be programmed into the gas gauge itself so it compensates for it.  We are specifically looking at the BQ34Z100-G1, but are wondering the same question of all of the gas gauges using the Impedance Track algorithm.  Does anyone know how the parallel cells effects the Impedance Track algorithm?

Also looking for the user manual or reference manual for the BQ34Z100-G1 showing all of the register definitions.  I can't find it on the parts web site anywhere.  Does anyone have a copy or link to it?

The device will treat parallel cells as one cell and effectively combine the capacities and reduce the Ra Table values. The gauge determines these values when you run the optimization cycle. The be34z100-G1 datasheet is available on its product website.
