Lithium-ion battery charging/monitoring/balancing Support

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78350, BQ24610, BQ76940

1. Universal AC input, 36V (2.8V) to 55V (4.2V) charger voltage output, 5A charger design for 13 series cell Li-ion.

2. Lower voltage trickle charge if discharged below 2.8V.

3. bq78940 and bq78350 AFE and monitoring looks like it could work, but need supply solutions for AFE, either

1. AC-DC with variabe output to variable supply in 1.or

2. DC -DC variable output stage in 1.

  • We don't have an integrated charger solution to charge a 55V voltage battery.

The bq24610 can charge a 6S battery with 28V input source. That is probably the highest we can do.

  • The bq76940 is rated to 15s li-ion. It is not the analog front end that I am looking for TI solutions to, that part seems straightforward. The 13s stack design I need will require a CV/CC programmable AC-DC or DC-DC front end. The DC-DC front end will need a AC-D pre-stage. It will need to operate CC@6A from 39-53VDC, then CV from 53 to 54.6 VDC.

Does TI have a CV/CC programmable solution for this voltage range?
