bq 78350 - reset for use on a new battery pack

Hi,

I want to reset an old bms that had been used for a few cycles and install it on a new battery. what are the steps to reset all its past life data.

I tried setting cycles to 0, and sending a RESET command, but it seems the BMS has some internal conflicts, causing maxError() to be 100% after learning cycles.

thx,

Yoav

  • I export a gg file from the pack and program the default srec file. Edit the gg file and set the Cycle Count to 0 and the Learned Full Charge Capacity to the appropriate value. You can then reprogram the Chemistry data, if you had changed it and press the LT_RESET button to clear the lifetime data. The gauge should be back to the new state.
