UCC27531DBVR MOSFET driver fails and Out pin is shorted with VCC

Hi All,

I was trying to switch 48V highside MOSFET with a UCC27531DBVR as per the below scheme with +/-12V.

The Driver IC fails immediately when switching starts.

Tried with only +12V and the driver is working fine.

Could anyone help in finding method / guidelines for gate switching to negative voltage.

Hi Sagar,

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to achieve?
Are you trying to have +/-12V on the output of the driver?

We were trying to switch the gate to -12V w.r.t MOSFET source for fast turn off.

ie, OUT = +12V when FET is on

OUT = -12V when FET is off

There are 2 grounds in the system.

Since the MOSFET is operating at high current, it is important to make the Turnoff fast.

The application is for very low frequency switching, greater than 10Sec.
