LM74670 using a LED to show active state?

using it with a alternator, no ground reference available.

Could I some how get a Green LED to be activated during the 2% off duty ones a sec?

To show that alternator voltage is higher (and working) than battery voltage it is charging.

VIN terminal is recommended to have a low-ESR ceramic bypass-capacitor...
If there is no ground reference this does not apply?

  • The capacitor is meant in the systemn application only, you are right it does not apply to the LM74670 since it does not have a ground.

Not sure how you would implement the led turning on and off without additional discrete circuitry. The Vcap voltage goes from 6.2V to 5V . This is a bigger voltage to sense than 0.7V drop however the leakage for any additional circuit hooked upto Vcap will affect the duration of the fet on time
