Can TI guarantee TPS63010YFFR to work at 100 Deg C ambient temp?

hi,

in TPS63010YFFR datasheet, in stated the operating temperature is -40 to 85 deg C. customer want to operated the device at 100 degC, does TI tested this part at 100 deg C? will it work?

Rgds,

  • 1.What are your operating conditions? Vin, Vout and Iout?
2.What is your end application, why do you need to test it for 100 deg?
3.Which measurement setup are using to test your design over temperature?
  • hi Sabrina,

1.What are your operating conditions? Vin, Vout and Iout?

Max 90degC Transceiver Case Temp. Estimate about 5degC higher for chip set at the PCBA. Vin = 2.5V, Vout = 1.2V to 4V. Iout=0.2A.

2.What is your end application, why do you need to test it for 100 deg?

Use to control the TEC. As explained in Q1, the transceiver operating temp is 90C max. need some margin for IC.

3.Which measurement setup are using to test your design over temperature?

For transceiver verification, we will soak the transceiver at 90C case temp, then test electrical and optical parameters.

  • Hi,

The device will work at 100C ambient temp but we cannot guarantee anything due to the specification in our Datasheet. (Ta = 85C)
Do the customer really needs this high ambient temperature? In such transceiver applications we saw max. ~70C so far.
Could you share the customer and transceiver name? (you can send me a private message if necessary)
Do you know the business opportunity?

What is the maximum current? Is it 200mA in both directions? (cooling and heating)

    Thanks & Regards,
    Michael
