The Apple "Accessory Interface Specification R24" outlines how one can identify various Apple chargers and infer how much current they support.
The spec contains Table 57-1 on page 803.
In the case of the sixth entry in that table, I believe the BQ24295 decides it can draw twice as much current as the Accessory Interface Specification allows.
Is this something TI can confirm or deny? Is TI in Apple's "MFi" program? Does TI have a part like the BQ24295 that meets all of the requirements Apple demands in their Accessory Interface Specification?
Thanks,
Hedley
