TLV70028 ESD protection

Hi,

I was recently evaluating the TLV70028 in our new application. The device regulates 3.6V to 2.8V @ 200mA Max. Everything worked correctly. I've found however that there is no ESD protection diode beetwen IN and EN pins of this device. The structure between these pins behaves more like a resistor. In most of the LDOs which i've used so far the diode was there, that is why I have a little concerns about proper ESD protection of the device. Could you please dispel my concerns.

Thank you.

Best Regards

Pawel

    Hello Pawel,

My understanding is that all the pins must meet some sort of ESD qualification.  But I will check on this and get back to you.  Regarding the EN, I think that this pin also is connected to some eprom programing circuitry and buffer circuitry which could cause it to appear to not to have the ESD protection when it in fact does - and so I will check into this as well.

    Regards

    Pawel,

It has now been verified that all LDO pins are designed to have ESD protection.
