BQ24616 LED indicators

Hi,

I use the product BQ14616 in my design and it work well, I just have one problem, the STAT2 pin who indicate the end of charge is allway OFF even if the battery voltage is max and the STAT1 is alway ON.
In my design, the TTC signal is pull down.

When i used the eval board, I saw a difference when the signal TTC is pull down or up or float but the Stat2 signal never changed!

What is the problem?

Hi,

If you pull TTC low, it will disable termination, and the charger will just keep trying to charge the battery to the max voltage all the time. The charger needs to terminate in order to say that charging is done.

If I understand, i need to pull up the TTC pin or add a capacitor to have a timer on the charger and the Stat2 signal turn ON a the end of this timer?

Clément,

Yes that is correct, have termination enabled and use ISET2 to program this current threshold.
