BQ78350-R1 state diagram request and permanent fail bit reset

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78350-R1

TI -

two questions -

1. Is it possible to get a state diagram which shows how the device entering and exiting shutdown mode state?  I have a customer looking to put the BQ78350-R1 into shutdown mode then get it back into a usable state.  Should it sit in shutdown mode while in transit from manufacturing to the customer?

 2. the datasheet is not clear on this - can the permanent fail register be reset after it is tripped?

Thanks!

The closest documentation to a state diagram for shutdown mode is the Table in the TRM on page 56. Some users to place the device into shutdown for shipment, but all protection features will be disabled.

You can reset the permanent fail register by using the PF Clear command. If you used the PF feature to blow the fuse, then the fuse will remain blown.
