TPS65910 PMIC for DDR3L interfacing

I am interfacing DDR3L with AM335X processor with TPS659103X PMIC. As per PMIC datasheet it doesn't support DDR3L. let me know if I can interface DDR3L with AM335X and TPS6910A3 or TSP65910A31. As in PMIC datasheet it doesn't support 1.35V which is required for DDR3L operation. Please clarify.

Hi Manoj,

If your DDR3L memory can accept 1.5V then the TPS65910A31 can be used just like a DDR3 design. The VIO regulator that is typically used for memory is limited to 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V, so if 1.35V is necessary for your project you may need an external regulator for this specific voltage.

Hi Richard,

Please let me know the PMIC part number for Am335X which can support DDR3L(1.35V), As AM335X support DDR3L and we want to use DDR3L with compatible PMIC.

The TPS65217D is designed to support the AM335x with DDR3L.

Below is a user's guide showing the general connections, where the only difference between the TPS65217C and the TPS65217D is the memory voltage change from 1.5 to 1.35V for DDR3L.

Hello Richard,
While using TPS65910AA1RSL – PMIC for AM3352 power supply generation.
In PMIC, there are 2 nos of I2C bus available – 1st is general purpose I2C bus and 2nd is Smart reflex I2C bus.
Kindly clarify, the purpose of both the I2C bus.
Can VDD1 & VDD2 be configured, using general purpose I2C bus?

VDDI and VDD2 can be configured through the general control registers if the SR_CTL_I2C_SEL bit in the DEVCTRL_REG register is configured to allow access.
