LM5009 Vin pin current limit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5009

I have a question.

My customer are using LM5009.

LM5009 is used in the power supply for the control circuit of the fan motor.

Customer checked current at Vin pin.

Normal is a load current of about 10mA, but was flowing 1.2A peak to Vin pin to when to turn off the fan.

Customers are worried about whether the IC is broken.

Is this will no spec on the problem?
It is considering to circuit protection on the input side.

Best regards,

  • Hello Ozawa-san,

    Apologies the late reply.

If 1.2A is seen as the input current, there is a possibility that the IC is probably broken.

Can you please share the customer schematic for this par, if possible. Do you see the issue only during the startup or at steady state. Did the customer repeat the same issue with another LM5009 IC sample ?

    Regards,
