 Which type of control technique is more appropriate for Two switch Forward converter topology ? How to find out, whether the given IC is Voltage Mode Control PWM IC or Current Mode Control PWM IC ? Please suggest list of Voltage Mode control ICs and Current Mode control ICs for Isolated Forward two switch Forward converter. And Is it possible to implement both the control using Single PWM IC ? While selecting the PWM IC for two switch forward converter , what are the parameters I have to look in a PWM datasheet ?

    Hi Arumugam,

    TI has a large number of controllers that can control a two switch forward. I recommend that you start with the UCC38C44 type devices. These are current mode controllers which offers simpler control loop design compared to a voltage mode control scheme.

    The two transisitor forward has a mosfet switch in a high side position so it will require a gate drive transformer to provide an isolated gate drive signal.

    The two switch forward is identical from a control IC perspective to a single ended forward, so any controller that can work with a single ended forward will work with a two switch forward.
