Is there a similar device to replace LT8302?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5160, LM5106, UCC28630

Do we have a similar IC to meet the optocoupler free, integrated FET and output isolated topology requirement to replace LT8302? Input voltage is 12V or 24V Battery for Automtoive, output voltage is 5V and 1A? My first solution would be LM5160 to design Flybuck topology. Whether we have other better solution? Thanks.

  • Hi Trevor,

The LM5106 is supported by the non-isolated team, I will move your post to the correct forum and one of their applications team will respond to your post.

  • Hello Trevor,

I would have suggested the LM5160 as well for this application. That's is the closest opto-coupler free Fly-Buck solution we have for this application right now.

I can direct you to the UCC28630 series (PSR Fly-Back) but that would be controller and not a converter.

What is the minimum input voltage do you expect in this application? Do you see the input voltage going down to 9VIN in this automotive application. If that is the case, we can still use the LM5160 in an inverting isolated Buck-Boost application. I can share a schematic with you if you want to know more about it.
