Problem with BQ34Z100-G1 Learning cycle

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100-G1

We make tests on BQ34Z100-G1EVM with NiMH pack and we have problem in learning cycle. The pack is in RELAX for 50 hours and the OCVTAKEN flag is not set. So, we can’t finish the learning cycle. Can you help us to resolve this problem?

We have another problem. 4 days ago, we had success with this OCVTAKEN flag. So, we began charge but we had a problem at the end of charge because the FC flag was not set. The FC set % is equals to -1 and the (ΔT/Δt) termination condition was good. Can you help me to resolve this second problem?

You find the gg file and log in attachment.

Do not hesitate to ask questions.

  • I can see a few problems with the setup. The CHG Current Threshold is set to 25mA, but the charge current does not reach this level for most of the charge cycle. This is a 6000mA pack. What charge current do you plan to use? The Quit Current is set to 100mA. the Quit Current must be set lower than the Charge and Discharge Current Thresholds. The Update Status is set to 06, yet the Ra tables and Qmax are not learned. Did you set the Update Status to 06 manually? It should be set to 04 at this point in the optimization cycle.
  • BQ34Z100-G1arts-energy.zipSorry last time I made an error and I forgot 1 file.

    Thanks for your notes

We identify the problem with the OCVTAKEN that was a problem with USB who take too current

We have always the problem with FC flag now the FC is set at the end of charge but it is late. NiMH Delta Temp equals to 0,8°C and NiMH Delta Temp Time equals to 240 secondes. When FC flag is set, (ΔT/Δt) is bigger than 1°C by 4 minutes, with the log give by the BQ34Z100-G1.

You find 2 log where there is the problem and the gg files
