UCC28610 Method ON/OFF from the outside(Enable function)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28610

UCC28610 Team,

Many thanks.

I received your information and feeling.

We received a question about I/F which let UCC28610 circuit have ON/OFF from the outside(external signal).

Could you please tell me the method concrete.

Best regards

  • Hayashi-san,

It should be possible to interface an external remote on/off signal to the UCC28610 MOT (Maximum On-Time) pin. This is described in more detail in the UCC28610 datasheet section 7.3.3.

If this pin is pulled low, the PWM will be disabled, and will remain disabled as long as MOT < 0.7 V.

Depending on the logic polarity of the external on/off signal, the interface to the MOT pin may be different. The MOT pin can be pulled to GND by an open-collector npn, or open-drain nfet, or through a pull-down diode. Since there is an internal offset on the MOT pin of 1 V (0.7 V min), it does not need to pulled all the way to GND, so a pull-down diode may be used.

I hope this helps answer your question.

    Thanks,
    Bernard
  • Bernard-san,
