Pls see customer question regarding ripple below.

"We are looking at using the LMZ21701 simple switcher in a low current application around 100 mA. We did some eval board testing and noticed that it does significantly increase the ripple and lowers the switching frequency. Do you have any recommendations for this use case to control the output ripple?"

HI Jerome,

The LMZ21701 has a power saving mode which mean it will reduce frequency when the load current is low. If your input is at 12V, most likely the you are at this mode at 100mA load. The side effect of this is that the output voltage ripple gets larger.
You can try to increase the load to be greater than 200mA and i believe the output ripple will get smaller.

Another question on these parts. Is there any difference between the LMZ21700 and the 701 besides output current rating?
