LM3409 "PGATE" SPEC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3409

Hi

My customer has questions. Please Cooperate me.

1.For [Driver Output resistance], What is the prescribed value of the "max" is?

2.If customwe put the Diode to PGATA-GND, do you have a problem?

⇒There is a need to put in customer internal regulations. Is there a possibility that malfunction occurs?

Best Regard

  • We do not have a spec for max Rpgate as it was not characterized over temperature. The 2ohm spec just gives you a typical rise/fall time of the FET gate depending on its capacitance. The more important spec is ICClim as it tells you what FET you can drive at what switching frequency (ICC = Qg*Fsw). Do you mean a diode from ground to PGATE with the anode to ground? If so there should be no issue with that but I am not sure what purpose that is supposed to serve, it may just introduce ground noise which likely wouldn't be an issue with a good layout. I am not sure what you mean by "internal regulations" however, could you please clarify? Thanks.
