SLUA664 shows many examples of BQ34Z100 Data Flash configuration, and has images of several screen captures, but does not indicate what software is in use with these functions. Is it BQ-Studio, or some other software package? If other, which one?

Hi Leonard,

The software pictured in SLUA664 is BQ-EVSW which is an older version of battery gauge software. I would recommend using BQ-Studio instead. You can program BQ34z100-G1 data flash parameters directly on the "Data Memory" tab in bqstudio.

Seems SLUU904A (BQ34Z100EVM) has instructions, although seems these have not been updated to the latest BQStudio version. Will this UG be updated, or a new one for the -G1 version created?

I'm not aware of any ongoing effort to update the user guide for this device but let me ask around and get back to you. In the meantime, I can answer any questions you might have about configuring the device.

Does this mean we are relying totally on BQStudio to program and inform users of options? What about SLUA334B?

For configuration options, I would recommend starting with the design procedure shown on page 50 of the datasheet: www.ti.com/.../bq34z100-g1.pdf.

SLUA334B refers to performing learning cycles to update Qmax and Ra. This is typically done after you have identified a chem ID match.

SLUU904A is still applicable to BQ34z100-G1. The 34z100EVM actually uses a BQ34z100-G1. Are there specific sections of the user guide that are not clear to you?
