Hi
The plan is using the BQ24133 to charge a 3 cell Li-Ion battery for a medical device which normally runs from a wall supply.
The battery will operate the machine when mains power fails. On reading the datasheet SLUSAF7C revised April 2015, I cannot find reference to the minimum overvoltage (ie above maximum charge voltage) to drive the buck regulator.
It is clear that the upper N-channel MOSFET needs a gate drive from the bootstrap circuit, and therefore there must be a maximum duty cycle for the converter.
If my charge terminates at 12.6 volts, what is the minimum input required for 1 amp charge? What is the maximum duty cycle of the converter? It is clear that the high side FET cannot be switched on continuously, so this information is required.
Thanks
