LM43602 Pluse skipping in Hi-Vin, Low-Vout, Hi-Fsw

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM43602

Hello,

In a condition of Hi-Vin, Lo-Vout, and Hi-Fsw, LM43602 may not meet the specifications in the datasheet.

I guess, the device may skip switching cycles to realize necessary duty cycle.

Is there any known destructive behavior in such conditions?

One of my customer is concerned about destructive failure, while pulse skipping in an extreme condition is well acceptable.

Thank you.

  • Hi Oguri-san,

In the no load condition or DCM yes, the frequency will reduce.

But in the loaded condition or CCM, we see that the output is oscillating because it hits the minimum on time and become unstable. As long you are above the minimum on time of the IC, the IC should operate correctly.

    Thanks
