TIDA-00449 and replacing MSP430 with TMS570LS0432 in order to have embedded CAN controller

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS0432, TIDA-00449

Hi everyone,

I am using the reference design TIDA-00449 and am replacing MSP430 with TMS570LS0432 in order to include the embedded CAN controller to communicate with a host PCU. However, the AFE (BQ 76930) uses I2C communication link with the MCU. Does anyone know if I can interface this AFE with TMS570 and how if so?

Is there any other concern replacing MSP430 with TMS570 in this reference design from a performance point of view?

Thanks a lot for your support,

-Alireza

  • If the target MCU has I2C it should be fine, the one you listed does not show I2C in the parametric table so you would need to emulate I2C somehow.
When changing MCUs of course be sure to check the interface voltage levels.
