INT- Query on LP5907

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5907

Hi

One of my customer want to use RF LDO LP5907 for camera sensor power. They need 2.9V output from 3.3V.

3.3V is comming from DC to DC module.

As per data sheet VDO = 250mV(Max.) @ 250mA for X2SON package. Also datasheet is showing VIN = VOUT(NOM) + 1 V & recommending VIN voltage must be at least VOUT + 1 V.

Customer requirement is 2.9V out of 3.3V, will this work reliably or do they need to consider the input as 3.9V?

To reduce the output noise of LDO any further recommaendation also helps. At present we have suggsted them to keep provison for ferrite bead at the output to prevent switching noise or any other RF noise to CMOS sensor.

regards,

Mitesh

Having 400mV of headroom with LP5907 should be adequate for most applications.

The ripple amplitude and ripple frequency out of the DC to DC module needs to be understood. If ripple amplitude is excessive, say >100mV pk-pk, there may be headroom problems.

    I would suggest:

       1) make sure that the input and output capacitance requirement is fully met, no short-cuts.

       2) one ferrite bead at input, before Cin, is better than one on the output only.

       3) any ferrite bead on the output should be after Cout.
