TPS40210: Variable Output - How to design the compensation?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40210

Hello,

we have a request for a boost converter with a variable output voltage (72 V max/1.1 A).

The idea is to use the TPS40210 and furthermore an additional PWM-DAC (10%...90%) in order to inject extra current through a series resistor into the bottom feedback resistor and with that to control the output voltage.

Now there is the question how the DC/DC's stability is affected and how the compensation has to be designed? Most likely it has to be a compromise between the min and max use case?

We do not have experiences in this configuration of the boost topology.

Could you please help us and maybe there are some guidelines for the design?

Thanks and best regards
Martin
