LM4040C25-EP Maximum Power Dissipation

Hello Team,

The customer wants to know the Maximum power dissipation (please specify ambient temperature at which this parameter was tested/estimated) for the LM4040C25MDBZTEP. I cannot find any data regarding this. The closest I could find was at

Simple math...

Maximum power dissipation is defined (limited) by:

Maximum Operating temperature, Tj(max)
Maximum Ambient temperature, Ta(max)
Thermal Resistance of the package, Theta(j-a)

From the datasheet: Maximum Operating temperature, Tj(max), is 125 deg C; Thermal Resistance for DBZ package (SOT-223, 3-pins) is 206 dec C / W;

Using the standard formula :

Pd(max)= ( Tj(max) - Ta(max) ) / Theta(j-a)

Or ...

Pd(max)= ( 125degC - Ta(max) ) / 206 degC/W

With this you can calculate maximum power dissipation for any given ambient temperature up to 125 deg C
