To confirm the risk level of UCC27519 IN pin over -0.3V

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27519

HI Expert,

Below measuremnt is coming from the UCC27519 IN pin.

The negative voltage level is over the min rating of the spec defined.

Since this duration is very narrow, pls help to advice whether any risk had.

Best regards,

  • Eric,

Although the short duration (~20ns beyond absolute max rating) mitigates risk, I recommend against running under this condition if possible. Negative undershoot will tend to engage the ESD protection diode at the IN pin. What is the source of the input signal?

Please confirm the measurement setup. It is important to ground the scope probe using short, low-inductance connection, such as the small ground springs usually included with the probe. Longer leads with higher inductance may cause undershoot to appear worse on the scope than it really is.
