LM53601-Q1 - some constants

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM53601-Q1

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask LM53601-Q1?

Our cuatomer would like to realize the following condition.

<Condition>
-Input Voltage : 16~32V
-Output Voltage : 5V
-Output current : 0~1A
-Output capacitance : 100uF(ceramic cap)
-Cross over frequency : 100kHz over
-Gain margin : 10dB
-Phase margin : 45 degree

We consider to confirm it using Webench.
Is Cross over frequency the frequency which the gain is 0dB?
In this case,  Output capacitance is large, right?
When we simulated with output capacitance=100uF, Cross over frequency was under 100kHz(approxy 50kHz).
When we simulated with output capacitance=22uF, Cross over frequency was 100kHz.
Is our recoginition correct?

Kind regard,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

The gain crossover frequency is the frequency when the gain is 0dB.

I ran the Webench simulation as well. Your recognition is correct. The pole created by the output capacitance and the load lowers the crossover frequency as the output capacitance is increased.
