UCC3973 Unusual application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC3973, UCC28251

UCC3973 CCFL controller

I need to generate between 500 and 2.5KV at <=1ma.  The application is to place a high voltage charge on surface used in particle detection.  Leakage current will keep output current drive quite low.  Input voltage is 6vdc max (although we can easily boost convert).  Ideally using a standard transformer such as CoilCraft's CCFL line would be good.

Concerns are regulation (maintaining +-50mv or so), noise, and a tight output voltage control loop.

It appears that the UCC3973 might be of benefit at the core of such a design.

I'd like to hear from a TI engineer familiar with this part as to its applicability to these requirements.

Perhaps there's some design ideas floating around?
