TPS63030 PS/SYNC pin pulled low method

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63030, TPS63030EVM-417

Hello,

I have question about TPS63030 PS/SYNC Pin

There are 2 kinds of TPS63030 schematic as attached. One is TPS63030EVM-417 schematic and the other is schematic on TPS63030 datasheet.

The question is what is the different between PS/SYNC Pin pulled low though 1Mohm resistor and it connected GND though 1uF capacitor?

TPS63030 is used for Power of 2.4GHz,920MHz RF transceiver.

Is there any effect on this RF circuit?

Please let me get your reply ASAP.

Regards,

Nicky

  • Hello Nicky,

there should be no effect on the RF transceiver. The 1Meg Pulldown on PS/SYNC, respectively the Pullup resistor on EN is used for defined startup only. When e.g. a Microcontroller is used to control these pins, they may have a undefined logic state during startup. Then, the Pullup / Pulldown resistors are used for proper startup of the power supply and start of the microcontroller.

    Best regards, Felix
  • Hi Felix,

You mean there is no different effect between pulled low through 1Mohm resistor and through 1uF capacitor, Am I right?
