LP8860-Q1 / EVM doesn't working

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP8860-Q1

Hi,

I have the EVM of LP8860-Q1 at my hand.

However the EVM has not worked(it can work before...).

Followings are conditon;

- I have tried the procedure "Quick Start Guide" written on EVM User's Guide

- EN is High.

- SD pin is High, so LP8860 can not be receive power supply by Q1.

- Fault pin is Lo. So I checked Fault Tab, though GUI doesn't react.

And "ERROR_NOACK" is displayed on the GUI such as below.

Is the device broken?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,

It seems I2C I/F doesn't work for some reason. Could you try these to verify if LP8860 EVM is broken or not?

    1. Close GUI, then unplug and plug back USB cable, and open GUI again to reset the board.

    2. With EN/VDDIO=high, read all registers(Read Registers) from "Operation menu" on the top, and check read values are reasonable(not all 0s or Fs)

    3. Check EN/VDDIO level on the board after enable this pin from GUI

    4. Check every jumper on EVM to make sure these are on correct positions. Especially, jumpers on J11, J8, and J18.

If you can't get I2C response after these steps, EVM might be really damaged.

    Hope this helps,
