Hi TI community,

I'm a brazillian student and I need to design a BMS 7s Li-ion. I'm thinking in use by reference the TIDA-00449, because it use BQ76930 IC. The only problem is how I reduce 10s to 7s from this design.

Hi Matheus,

There needs to be a min of 3cells/groups in the ba769x0 family.The bq76930 cannot support anything less than 6 cells. For the 7 cells, the bq76930 can be configured as per datasheet( slusbk2F) Table 8-2 summary; The table gives guidance as to which of the pins needs to be shorted;

Other question, in MSP software, do I need to change anything? Like the number of cells?

Hi Matheus,

For the firmware you will need to change the balancing algorithm on how you want to balance, but don’t think that there is a big change into the firmware.
