EV2X00 Adapter USB Timeout

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100EVM, BQSTUDIO, BQ34Z100-G1

Hi,

I'm using the bq34z100evm on lead-acid pack (2S1P).

When I scan for a long time and bqstudio will get EV2X00 Adapter USB Timeout problem.

Can I know what is the problem with this?

  • Hello Kingston,

Let us take a look at your post and get back to you.

  • Hello Kingston,

The error means that bqstudio lost communication with gauge. It sent commands to read the status of the gauge and most likely got a Nack. The control status last update before communication was lost with the gauge show that the gauge bq34z100-G1 was in sleep mode. Were you able to regain communication at all? What was the voltage on the REGIN pin? What's your BAT voltage?

  • Hi Damian,

I can't regain communication when the error occured.
The batteries I’m using are two YUASA NP12-12 (2S1P), so my BAT voltage is 24V.
The jumper J2 I used to place in 16V.
    Was that the problem here?

Can I have another question for the data flash, there are some parameters.
    1. Numbers of series cells
    2. Design Energy
    3. Design Capacity
    4. Cell Charge Voltage Tx-Ty
    5.Pb EFF Efficiency ,Pb ?? EFF ?? NiMH ??
    6.Discharge (Cycle Delta) ?

I would like to know that
For ‘Number of series cells’ , Should I fill in 2?
For Cell charge voltage Tx-Ty, Should Ifill in 14.4V or 28.8V?
    For Design Energy , Should I fill in 12000mah x 24V = 288000mW?
For Cell Terminate Voltage , Should I fill in 20400mV?(Cause one cell terminate voltage is 10.2V , I got 2S1P cells it will be 20.4V)
For Pb EFF Efficiency , Can I know what the meaning of this?
For Cycle delta , I would like to know what the meaning of 0.05% ?

    Respectfully yours,

    Kinston Shih
