TPS25200 EN turn on time

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25200

Hi Team,

customer got a question about the TPS25200 EN trun on time that need to check product team for comments, according to the TPS25200 data sheet page 9, figure 12, enable timing shown the max Ton for Ven at 50% to Vout at 90% is 7.3ms, however, in customer case, they need to add a capacitor on EN pin for some requirement, that caused the Ven at 50% is behind the Vout at 90%, so customer wants to know will this symptom make any side effect to TPS25200?

Besides, since the EN terminal is logic level control input, customer wants to know at what voltage level that can drive the TPS25200 to active mode?

Please advise. Thanks.

Regards,

Arthur

  • Hi Arthur,

EN terminal has maximum turn on threshold value of 1.9V. Since this is the max. value, any voltage level close to 1.9V may drive the device TPS25200 into active mode. But voltage level beyond 1.9V can definitely ensure TPS25200 to be in active mode.

The Turn-on time defined in table is for fast rising control signal at EN terminal. A slow changing signal (as per this customer case) can result Ven at 50% is behind the Vout at 90% since the device might got activated at Ven <50%. This should not cause any problem from device operation perspective.

What is the logic voltage level at EN terminal, is it 0-->3.3V or 0-->5V?

    Best Regards,
