What is VREF shown on the page 24 in equation (2)?

According fig. 47 it is pull-up for I2C, but I expect it connected with Vbat.

    I think you mean bq25895. The VREF refers to REGN as shown on Fig. 14. The internal circuit of the temperature comparators is also biased from REGN. The accuracy of REGN has no impact to the temperature measurement when the external circuit is biased by the REGN as well since the REGN is cancelled out in the equation.
