How to select a best Cff for TLV62065

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV62065, TLV62084

Q1: TLV62065 datasheet Page 11, why fz is chosen as 25kHz? Is that because the double pole frequency is 50kHz with 1uH inductor and 10uF output capacitor? Then why 25kHz fz is selected rather than 50kHz or other frequency?

Q2: Because Cff will introduce a zero and a pole and  fp/fz will change according to variable output voltages, then how to select a best zero and pole location?

  • This app note describes how to pick an optimal Cff: www.ti.com/.../slva289a.pdf An optimal Cff is not required, but is best. 25 kHz gets a decent Cff for most applications with that output filter.

But again, this is an older voltage mode control device. The TLV62084 uses a much easier DCS-Control and should be used. Please email me if you have a specific customer and design you are supporting.
