multi-channel output flyback led driver

For the multi-channel output flyback led driver, if we use the primary-side control, what will happen for the output volatage regulation?

  • Hello,

Since the secondary voltage is proportional to the primary voltage, you can still achieve good regulation using primary-side control. One tradeoff is that there will be some error between primary side voltage and secondary side voltage due to the realistic voltage waveform including parasitic resistance as well as rectifying diode. Depending on the device you use, there are app notes and reference designs for primary-side and secondary side regulation circuits.
