TPS62170 EN Hysteresis

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62170, TPS62125

Hello,

The d/s for the TPS6217x family doesn't specify any hysteresis on the EN line nor does is specify a minimum OFF time held internally by the IC before it can boot up again. Does any hysteresis or min OFF time exist for the TPS62170 EN pin?

I see that the TPS6212x family of similar devices has a EN hysteresis pin, which makes me think that the TPS6217x family doesn't have this functionality, correct?

Regards,

Hayden

  • The TPS62170's EN input is a standard digital input with a rather wide range between the logic high and low levels. The TPS62125 and a few other ICs have a precise EN input. You can compare the specs in the electrical table of each D/S to see how these are different. The TPS62170 D/S has typical values for the EN threshold which shows the hysteresis.

Every IC likely has a minimum time that EN must be held low before it will turn off the IC. I don't believe I have ever seen this specified in any D/S. If there is something peculiar about your application, please share the details.
